Build the Next Generation's Foundation.
Flavored Flight is building a network of professional ground instructors who can develop knowledge beyond test preparation.
Ground Instruction as a Professional Discipline
Ground instruction is the educational product at Flavored Flight. Instructors are responsible for finding where a student's understanding breaks down and helping the student rebuild it in a form they can explain. That work includes ACS deficiency review and guided concept explanations as the student prepares for the next stage.
We intend to compensate instructors in a way that reflects the professional value of that work.
Remote Ground Instructor
Remote instructors conduct one-on-one ground sessions with students over video. As the program expands, Flavored Flight also intends to develop local in-person instructional availability.
Who We Are Looking For
Applicants must hold an applicable FAA Ground Instructor license or Flight Instructor certificate. Strong candidates should be able to:
- Explain the reasoning behind aviation concepts.
- Connect subjects across the curriculum.
- Identify the source of a student's misunderstanding.
- Adjust explanations to the student.
- Evaluate knowledge beyond answer recognition.
- Maintain accurate instructional and endorsement records.
- Represent students' readiness honestly.
The Role
Instructors guide students through the lessons and testing requirements for each stage, including ACS deficiency review and guided concept explanations.
The work is flexible and primarily remote. Full expectations, compensation, scheduling requirements, and contractor terms will be published before applications open.
Interested?
Applications will open as the first instructor positions become available.
